Questbridge College Prep Scholars

In your junior year, you can apply for the QuestBridge College Prep Scholars program, which will open you to several resources that will help you in your final years of high school. These resources may include: a full scholarship to a college summer program, awards of $1,000 to spend on what you wish, direct feedback on your college admissions essays, and one on one mentoring from Amherst College students.

Must currently be in your junior year of high school

Full tuition at summer college program; can also win $1,000 if applying for extra scholarships

We the Students Essay Contest

Write a 500-800 word essay to answer a prompt, which is "What is the relationship between Equality and Justice?" this year. There are cash prizes for first place, 5 runner ups, and 8 honorable mentions.

Eligibility:

Must be in grades 8-12 and be of 14-19 years old at time of submitting application.

Award:

$7,500

Think for Yourself Scholarship

Write a 500-800 word essay to a prompt that is given. Prizes are given to winners and runner ups.

Eligibility:

Must be at least 13 years old and in middle or high school at time of submitting application.

NeW Essay Contest

In April 2021, the Network of enlightened Women (NeW) Essay Contest invited high school seniors and college women to reflect on these momentous achievements and what they mean for women going forward in a 600-750 word essay for the chance to win a $500 scholarship.

Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund offers renewable, four-year scholarships to students with financial need who display academic achievement, a commitment to serving others (in school, their community, or at home), a strong work ethic, and leadership qualities.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be entering an accredited undergraduate institution in the United States and must be enrolled full-time (at least 12 hours) and be pursing a bachelor's degree for the first time. The student must be a US citizen or a noncitizen who has current lawful presence and a work permit. In addition, they must be a permanent resident of a New England state. Academically, the applicant must have a 3.0+ on a 4.0 scale, enrolled in demanding course of study, and demonstrated skillful writing. Financially, the student should have an EFC of 10k or lower in the FASFA Student Aid Report, a low to moderate parent Adjusted Gross Income, or extenuating financial circumstances. It is recommended that demonstrating a desire to make a meaningful chance in the present and future society, involved in the balance of community, school, and work, working part time, demonstrated leadership traits or held leadership positions, exhibit grit under hardship, and pursuing goals and aspirations with integrity, resolution, self-discipline, and judgement as it shows a strong applicant.

Award:

4 years of renewable scholarship that ranges from 3,000$ to 17,000$ annually.

Sacramento ''Art of Healing'' Scholarship

While the Sacramento community endured its fair share of trauma in 2020, our city is characterized by our ability to heal. While many residents are still healing from COVID-19, others heal from financial stress and physical injuries. For every challenge, healing will look differently based on the circumstances and individuals.

Eligibility:

Be a Sacramento senior with a 3.0 GPA or higher.

Elevate Mental Health Awareness Scholarship

Students applying to the scholarship will be required to write an essay about how their experience with mental health has influenced their beliefs, relationships, and career aspirations. While not required, working or volunteering at organizations that increase mental health awareness, provide mental health support, or research mental health solutions will be a plus on student applications.

Fifth Month Scholarship

Scholarship is open to students 14 years of age or older who are legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia who are currently enrolled (or will enroll no later than the fall of 2026) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education. Applicant must “write a letter to the number five explaining why five is important.”

Aspiring Pennsylvania Attorneys Scholarship

Do you know a high school senior who wants to be a lawyer? The Pearce Law Firm is pleased to announce our 2021 scholarship award for Pennsylvania high school students from the Class of 2021 who are pursuing a law oriented degree. Our annual scholarship of $1500 will be awarded at the beginning of the fall semester (2021). Applications due May 31, 2021.

You must be a high school senior seeking a law oriented degree. Must have a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0.

Ethel Hayes Destigmatization of Mental Health Scholarship

The scholarship is open to all students who have had challenges with mental health or who have had loved ones who have struggled with mental health. To apply for the scholarship, you will be asked to write a short essay about how your journey with mental health has impacted your beliefs, relationships, and aspirations.
