SEED Crew
Throughout this paid civics education program, youth ages 14-17 work together to sustainably grow and distribute produce from several farms in the Greater Boston area. Once a week, students will serve the produce they have grown at a local hunger relief organization. Participants also attend workshops where they discuss sustainable agriculture, food access, and social justice.

Must be 14-17 year old and reside within Boston, Lincoln, Lynn, or Wenham, MA.

Stanford Medical Youth Science Program
Bolsters students’ science skills while introducing them to a host of health-related careers and a taste of life as an undergraduate on campus. The twenty-four admitted participants in grades 10 and 11 work closely with Stanford faculty, researchers, students, and Stanford Health Care Hospital professionals. SMYSP follows both a mentoring and team approach to learning and encourages peer teaching. Program participants also receive one-on-one and group college admission counseling as well as guidance in essay and resume writing. They also attend lectures by Stanford faculty and medical professionals and serve a hospital internship. (Only applications received from the following California counties will be considered—and there are no exceptions: Alameda, Contra Costa, Fresno, Madera, Marin, Merced, Monterey, Napa, Sacramento, San Benito, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Luis Obispo, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, and Yolo.)
Eligibility:
Must be a current sophomore or junior high school student from a low-income family whose members have little or no history of attending college.
Have demonstrated an interest in science and have received a B-average in some of your science classes.

Lockheed Martin Vocational Scholarship
In January 2020, Lockheed Martin launched the Vocational Scholarship program to support students of all ages participating in skills-based training in cutting-edge technology and advanced manufacturing fields. The scholarship seeks to fund students pursuing associate degrees, credit-bearing certificates, or industry-recognized credentials in specific disciplines at an accredited vocational technical school, trade school, or two-year community college. Funded in part by tax reform proceeds, the Vocational Scholarship program is a critical component of Lockheed Martin’s investment in workforce development and education.

Richard Louie Memorial Internship for High School Students
The goal of the internship is to introduce high school students to Asian art museums as places that offer unexpected rewards and challenges and chances for self-discovery. Richard Louie Memorial Interns are provided opportunities to accomplish a specific independent project within a departmental area of interest. In addition, the Freer and Sackler staff makes every effort to include interns in other museum activities. A stipend of $1500 is awarded to Richard Louie Memorial Interns upon the successful completion of a two hundred-hour internship experience

Stanford Earth Young Investigators
At the School of Earth, Energy & Environmental Sciences, high school students spend the summer working in research laboratories. Students are supervised directly by graduate students, post-docs and lab managers. This program enables graduate students to serve as supervisors, prepares high school students for college and helps strengthen the connections between Stanford and local high schools.
Eligibility:
Must live and have completed at least one year of high school at San Francisco Bay Area. Most of the students who are accepted have completed 2 or 3 years of high school. Interns are for students of all backgrounds and are expected to be mature and confident enough to talk to professors.

Jovenes En Accion (Youth In Action)
A program where youth use theater, music, or dance as a means of expressing the issues facing them and their community. In theater, youth train with a theater resident artist and write and perform their own pieces as playwrights. In music, youth learn to perform and teach all types of music, with a focus on Afro-Latin percussion, and share their art with their communities. In dance, youth learn Afro-Latin dance styles, and become leaders by teaching those in their communities the moves they learn, and what they represent. Aside from the arts, there are also Youth Community Organizers, where youth focus on the problems in their communities, and attend press conferences and form structured plans to solve them.

MFA Teen Arts Council
A summer and school year paid leadership development program for Boston-area teens, allowing participants to engage with art culture and gain important career skills by creating programs for the public, advising the MFA on engagement strategies, and leading tours throughout the MFA.

The University of Illinois-High School Summer Research Program
Students interested in STEM now have the opportunity to participate in authentic STEM research. Jefferson Lab/VIMS Summer Residential Governor’s School
The Center for Gifted Education hosts the Jefferson Lab/VIMS Summer Residential Governor's School, a 4-week mentorship program in July and August, for gifted rising 11th- and 12th-grade students. Since 1993, this program has been serving high-achieving high school students throughout Virginia and providing participants with authentic experiences in engineering, aeronautical or marine research.
