Project Success at Harvard Medical

A paid medical research internship for current 11-12th graders living in Boston or Cambridge. Participants are immersed in hands on research positions, seminars, visits to biotechnology firms, and writing and speaking skill development.

Eligibility:

Must currently be a junior or senior in high school who is a Cambridge or Boston resident. Need at least a B- GPA, and must have taken chemistry, biology, and algebra.

The Anson L. Clark Scholars Program

The Anson L. Clark Scholar Program is an intensive seven week summer research program for highly qualified high school juniors and seniors. The Program at Texas Tech University helps the Scholars to have a hands-on practical research experience with outstanding and experienced faculty.
The Scholars will receive a $750 tax-free stipend and room and board.
The Program includes fun activities, weekly seminars and field trips.
This Program provides opportunities for research in all academic areas in the university. (click on Research Areas for list of all research areas).

Eligibility:

International Students are eligible/welcome to apply.
You must be 17 years of age by the program start date and graduate in the year of 2021 or 2022.

Te Weill Cornell Youth Scholars Program (WCYSP)

A summer enrichment program hosted at Cornell University where underrepresented high school students are able to learn about the medical field, enhance their reading and writing schools, and gain an education that is often difficult to access for those in underrepresented backgrounds.

Must be high school student, especially from underrepresented high school

Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Sciences

A highly rigorous residential enrichment program here high school students take courses on Carnegie Mellon University's campus. Over the course of 5 weeks, students take lecture courses in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics and computer science. Participants are able to gain laboratory experience and take part in a team project. Students also have access to optional electives, guest lecturers, and networking opportunities.

Eligibility:

Applicants should be academically talented high school students who are residents of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and are current juniors at the time of the application deadline.

Teens In Print Summer Journalism Institute

A six-week summer journalism program where teens are able to learn key techniques behind journalism as well as the history of reporting. Each participant forms their own cumulative projects and takes part in job shadows.

Ignite Student Fellowship

Love science and nature? Apply for an Ignite fellowship, and spend two weeks next summer on a fully-funded research expedition studying wildlife alongside real scientists and other students. Now in its 30th year, this all-expenses-paid fellowship aims to spark curiosity and a passion for science among Los Angeles County high school students aged 15 to 18.

Castle Square Teen Program Internship

Offers paid school year and summer internships for teens aged 14-19 in media creation. Using social justice as a catalyst, interns can choose two different pathways in their internship: making media while exploring different social justice issues, or analyzing media that pertains to social justice while planning community events. Interns also have access to SAT prep and college advising workshops.

Must be 14-20 year old Greater Boston resident at start of internship

Journal of Emerging Investigators

An amazing opportunity where middle and high school students can have their research published with the aid of graduate students. JEI is operational during quarantine, and students can submit works from projects they've done for classes, science fairs, or summer research.

Brigham and Women's Youth Summer Program

An internship for high school students to gain experience in the health field. Students are able to learn new skills and work habits by shadowing and helping real physicians at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Eligibility:

Must be a Boston resident who is at least 16 year old by June 1st.

Women's Technology Program

A four-week residential program hosted on MIT’s campus for rising 12th grade girls. Participants are able to choose between two engineering disciplines: mechanical engineering or electrical engineering and computer sciences. Students must complete rigorous coursework, and learn from a hands-on, teamwork-based approach. The program is free to students whose parents have an annual income of less than $120,000.

Eligibility:

Must be a female high school junior at the time of applying. In addition, applicant must currently reside within the US, hold US citizenship, or is an US permanent resident.
