Inspiring Girls Wilderness Expedition

Inspiring Girls Expeditions is a tuition-free program that allows young women to travel in the wilderness. Girls are able to explore the environment with professional scientists, and each expedition involves the completion of scientific projects, which are presented to the public. All expeditions in the United States are conducted in English, and Girls on Ice Switzerland is conducted in German or French.

Eligibility:

Cis girls, trans girls, any girl-identified, non-binary, and gender non-conforming youth are applicable to apply. For expeditions in the United States and Canada, applicants must be 16 or 17 years old on June 1 of the expedition year. For expeditions in Switzerland, applicants must be 15, 16, or 17 on June 1 of the expedition year. Lastly, based on the team, you must know how to understand the main language used.

Arkansas Governor's School

This 4-week residential program at Arkansas Tech University provides gifted students the opportunity to explore their creativity through intellectually driven artistic pursuit.

SquashBusters

After school program for students in participating partner schools, by combining college preparation with squash training. Participants are subject to regular squash practice and competitions, while also receiving homework help, SAT prep, and one-on-one academic mentorship to help students get into top universities.

Eligibility:

Applicants must reside within Lawrence, Providence, or Boston and attend one of the partner schools.

Hamilton Scholars

A mentorship program for high achieving low income students. A five-year program provides underserved students with a comprehensive network of support and guidance as they transition from high school to college, and college to career.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be high school juniors who lives in the US and is high achieving and service focused. They must also possess grit and perseverance while demonstrating need. In addition, the student must be college-bound to a US based institution. They must also be able to attend the New York Leader Week while also be committed to participating in the rigorous five-year curriculum.

Bank of America Student Leaders

As a Student Leader, applicants will participate in an eight-week paid internship at a local nonprofit organization where they will learn first-hand about the needs of their community and the critical role nonprofits play. In addition, they will learn valuable civic, social and business leadership skills. Each Student Leader will attend the Student Leaders Summit held in Washington, D.C. where they will learn how government, business and the nonprofit sectors
work together to address critical community needs.

Eligibility:

To become a Student Leader, one must:

Currently be a junior or senior in high school
Be able to participate in an 8-week paid internship at a local nonprofit organization and work 35 hours a week
Be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship through the end of September 2021
Be a student in good standing at their school
Obtain a letter of recommendation from a teacher, guidance counselor, or school administrator

Support the operations of the world's largest junior livestock show in spring 2021. Interns will be provided a stipend and hotel accommodations.

Minority Introduction to Math and Science (MITES)

Minority Introduction to Engineering and Science (MITES) is a rigorous six-week residential academic enrichment program for rising high school seniors – many of whom come from underrepresented or underserved communities – who have a strong academic record and are interested in studying and exploring careers in science and engineering. This national program stresses the value and reward of pursuing advanced technical degrees and careers while developing the skills necessary to achieve success in science and engineering.

Summer Research Scholars Program

Research program exposing highly motivated high school students cardiovascular diseases, and clinical applications that this research reveals. Students will also receive personal mentors, go on field trips and experience immersive seminars that describe different clinical careers.

Must be a high school junior or senior student and be at least 16 years of age. In addition, applicant must also be an US citizen.

Summer Internships in Biomedical Research for High School Students

Allows high school students to spend a summer working along leading scientists at NIH. Students are dispersed onto one of several laboratories, all dedicated to biomedical study. Students are also exposed to workshops, lectures, and career readiness resources. High school internships are separated into 3 programs: HS-SIP, HiSTEP, and HiSTEP 2.0.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be 17 years of age or older by June 15 and should also be high school juniors or seniors at time of application. In addition, applicants must also be an US citizen of permanent resident who are enrolled in high school. If they will be 17 by June 15, they must also live within 40 miles within the NIH campus they hope to intern at. This does not apply to those who are 18 or older.

Nursing Early Assurance of High School Seniors

The College of Nursing offers an early assurance track for eligible high school seniors and college first-year students which have fewer than 30 credit hours interested in earning a Bachelor Degree of Science in Nursing (BSN) at the University of Utah. The Nursing Early Assurance Program (NEAP) is a track in the Baccalaureate Nursing Program that offers direct entry for candidates that are planning on majoring in nursing at the University of Utah. Candidates applying to the University of Utah as a first-year in fall will begin the nursing program in approximately two years.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be a high school senior or a college first-year with fewer with than 30 credit hours. In addition, you must also maintain an unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher from high school or a weighted GPA of 3.3 or higher from college.
