NSLI for Youth

A scholarship program for high school students allowing youth to study abroad, learn a new language, and immerse themselves in a new culture.

Eligibility:

Must be a high school student, aged 15-18, have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, and be a U.S. citizen

Georgia Governor's Honors Program

A residential summer enrichment program for rising high school juniors and seniors hosted on a college campus. Students are exposed to an innovative curriculum, in which they learn topics far different from those learned at school, allowing students to become better thinkers, collaborators, and leaders. While general courses are held in the morning, afternoons consist of specific areas of study, while evenings include social and instructional activities.

Eligibility:

Students must currently be high school sophomores or juniors residing in Georgia, and be nominated in a specific subject by their subject area instructor.

MERIT Health Leadership Academy

STEM and college prepatory program for high school students for Baltimore high school students. Students attend weekly Saturay programs where health professionals give them medical seminars and educators give them college and test preparation. Students have access to one on one college mentorship, as well as hands-on internships in hopitals and laboratories. Scolars also recieve mentors beyond their post-secondary education.

Eligibility:

Must be high school sophomore in Baltimore from a low income background and at least a 2.75 GPA

YES for CURE

A three-year scientific research training initiative for high school and undergraduate students hosted by the Dana Farber institution. Participants engage in mentored summer research projects, an immersive scientific curriculum during the academic year, and year-round skills training. Students also receive summer stipends, several networking opportunities, and must deliver research projects over the course of their experience.

Eligibility:

Must be a high school sophomore or junior, or a college freshman or sophomore

PRIMES USA

A highly intensive year long research program for gifted high school juniors across the country. Students work on math-related research projects from their homes while receiving assistance from specialized mentors over skype.

MIT Primes

A highly intensive year long research program for impressive high school students in commuting distance from Boston. Participants work with MIT researchers on problems unsolved within mathematics, computer science, and computational biology. Students are also led by mentors in guided reading circles, and are expected to work independently on their research projects throughout the summer.

Menezes Challenge PRIMES Circle

An after school program for talented high school students taking place from mid winter to mid spring. Students must work collaboratively in groups on readings and math problems far more advanced than highschool coursework. By the end of the program, students are expected to write an expository research paper on a math related topic of their choice.

Must be high school student within commuting distance of Boston

The Bronfman Fellowship

26 students are sent on an all expense paid trip to Israel, where they study Jewish culture and controversy, and meet influential leaders. Students are able to use the study of Jewish text and religious documents to invoke discussion with those around them. The experience continues with virtual year-round seminars.

Must be rising high school senior of Jewish descent in the U.S.

Monell Center Science Apprenticeship Program

This 7-week program is an intensive paid internship that offers high school and undergraduate students in the Philadelphia area an extraordinary opportunity to learn about science and
directly participate in basic research. Their mission is to increase scientific knowledge and technical expertise, and stimulate an interest in the biomedical science or medicine as careers - particularly in groups typically underrepresented in science.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be currently enrolled in a high school or undergraduate institution. Students from the greater Philadelphia area are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants must be able to prove eligibility to work in the United States. Applicants must have a strong interest in science and research.

Must be high school junior, have taken or are planing to take both math and science course, have unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher, be U.S. citizen, have health insurance, have 10 or fewer absences in sophomore year, have received the hepatitis B vaccination
