Internship Program At Futures And Options

The Futures and Options Internship Program provides students from New York City with critical work-readiness training and opportunities to gain firsthand work experience as interns with a dynamic range of business partners. This program also introduces motivated young men and women to the fields that they are interested in.

Health Professions Recruitment and Exposure Program

An after school enrichment program hosted by Harvard Medical School to recruit high school students from underrepresented backgrounds into science and medicine. Students attend Saturday classes on Harvard's campus and are immersed in STEM lectures led by Harvard students.

Must be a Massachusetts high school resident

Square Tech's Intro to Tech Teen Internship

Through this program, teens aged 14-19 are able to gain experience in PC hardware, programming codes, gaming design, customer service, and job readiness. Using this knowledge, youth are able to refurbish old computers, which are then donated to those in need.

Arlington Parks & Recreation Volunteer

Volunteer opportunities abound in the Department of Parks and Recreation. You can volunteer to assist at fun special events like Family Skate Night and Arlington Palooza, help individuals with disabilities learn to swim, help to remove invasive plants from our parks, and much more.

Western Aerospace Scholars

Western Aerospace Scholars (WAS) is an online distance learning course and summer experience specifically designed for high school sophomores and juniors interested in pursuing science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) pathways through the exploration of space and space travel. The online curriculum is a University of Washington college course focused on NASA’s space exploration program as well as topics in Earth and Space Science. If scholars successfully complete the online curriculum, they are invited to participate in multi-day summer experiences that provide them the opportunity to work with STEM professionals, NASA scientists, university students, and STEM educators.

Eligibility:

Must be a high school sophomore or junior residing in Washington, Montana or Oregon.

Youth Leadership Greater Washington

Youth Leadership Greater Washington (YLGW) is a five-month interactive youth leadership development and community education program. Founded in 1991, this powerful program serves high school sophomores and juniors in the Greater Washington region. YLGW provides leadership training to these youth leaders while raising their voices around critical issues in the region. Thanks to the generosity of corporate and individual sponsors, youth leaders participate in the program tuition-free.

Must be a high school sophomore or junior living in Washington DC, Maryland, or Virginia

EmersonWRITES

A free college writing workshop program for 8-12th graders living in the Greater Boston area. Students are able to choose from three course offerings taught by current Emerson college students: fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. Participants also have access to several seminars that occur throughout the year, as well as a chance to share work they have written at the annual EmersonWrites showcase.

MIT Splash

Since its founding in 1988, Splash has become MIT’s largest annual teaching and learning extravaganza. For one awesome weekend every November, thousands of high schoolers will flood campus (or, this year, virtual classrooms) to take classes, taught by MIT students, on anything and everything. Come be a part of this iconic MIT event!

High school students in grades 9–12 can attend Splash.

Idaho Science and Aerospace Scbolars

Idaho Science and Aerospace Scholars (ISAS) is a competitive program that allows high school juniors to take an engaging online NASA-developed course on Space Exploration through Idaho Digital Learning that teaches a broad range of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) skills aligned with Idaho Content Standards.

Eligibility:

High school juniors living in Idaho interested in STEM with at least 2.7 GPA, stable internet connection
