HOIST Summer Program
Each spring, approximately 15-20 Native American high school students from the Northwest, primarily Idaho, are selected to participate in research in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) in the HOIST Summer Program. The program includes project-based math, English and science classes, as well as activities and presentations put on by researchers, instructors, professionals and other experts. Students also go on field trips that are relevant to these fields of study and participate in internships with University of Idaho research groups and Moscow businesses.
Eligibility:
Native Americans who are interested in STEM and has strong interest in attending the University of Idaho

Eastern Illinois University High School Journalism Workshop
One-week free residential program for high school students hosted by Eastern Illinois University. Throughout the duration of the program, students are instructed on the fundamentals of journalism by day-to-day journalists, and must write several stories throughout the week. Students must gather information, and write, edit, and produce their work. Participants are also able to go on field trips, at which they can gain inspiration for their workings.

Ovation West Performing Arts Internship
Performing arts internship where high school students are able to join a chorus or musical theater productions at Ovation West. Many students have gone on to study performance at top arts schools around the country.

University of Washington MATH Academy
Math Academy students participate in a four-week, full-day intensive program in the summer at the UW Seattle campus. Students engage in coursework created by UW math faculty designed to develop the skills necessary to meet the high standards of college-level math and engineering. Students also have enrichment opportunities to explore the range of career opportunities available to engineers through lab tours, research projects, site visits and professional development events.
Eligibility:
The Math Academy accepts current Washington state juniors with a minimum 3.0 GPA who will complete pre-calculus by the end of their junior year. While the program is open to all Washington juniors, including home-schooled students, we do target underrepresented minority students and women for program participation. Must take Math Skills Assement by April 17.

Ali Leadership Institute
This program aims to train the next generation of activists, organizers, and grassroots leaders through civic education, leadership literacy training, and mentorship. Inspired by
social activist and legendary boxer, Muhammad Ali, Ali Leadership Institute first teaches young people how the government works and then provides them with the tools to change it.
Eligibility:
Applicants must complete an online application with multiple essay questions.
Applicants must be between 16-22 at the start date of the program.
Applicants must be able to attend all sessions.

Alpha Scholars Program
Alpha Scholars is a rigorous social science research program that teaches college-level research, writing and presentation skills to high school students in support of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Students work one-on-one with Harvard undergraduate mentors in advanced study and research of a topic related to their chosen SDG, culminating in a 12-page research paper and 15-minute presentation.

TeenSHARP
TeenSHARP is a college preparatory program offering low income, underrepresented high school students support in the college admissions process. Every Saturday throughout the school year, participants receive mentorship and attend workshops geared towards college success.
Eligibility:
For New Jersey/Pennsylvania: Must be in grades 7-11; For Delaware: Must be in grades 9-11; For Delaware goes to college Academy: Must be in grade 10 or 12

Future Doctors
Future Doctors was established to offer high school students a bird’s eye view of the medical profession. This program offers guest speakers from a variety of medical specialties, and includes hands-on activities tied directly to the speakers’ specialty. This program currently draws its audience from schools as far south as Provo and as far north as Ogden.
