Ron Brown Scholars Program

A free innovative college access initiative for African American high school juniors and seniors (as well as their parents and counselors). Their high-tech, high-touch approach, provides students the mentoring, information, and inspiration they need to make college accessible.

Eligibility:

Must be Black/African American high school junior or senior.

Youth Underground

A youth theater ensemble hosted by Central Square Theater which creates performances based on relevant social issues. Participants are able to gain training from professional actions, perform in an annual showcase, and receive free tickets to Central Square productions.

Must be 13-18 as a delegate, or 19-25 as an ambassador

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Coastal and Northern New Jersey

This program matches an adult to a child to act as their older ‘sibling’ for guidance and companionship. Building a relationship between one another works to bring security to the Little’s life, while also teaching the Big responsibility.

Upward Bound Math and Science Program

Our mission is to build, encourage, motivate and create an atmosphere for learning. We provide students with the skills necessary to successfully pursue and complete post-secondary education. Upward Bound is an academic enrichment program that opens the windows of opportunity in education via self-empowerment.

High school students from Canyon Springs, Cheyenne, Mojave, Desert Pines, Western, Chaparral, Del Sol, Valley

Athena Racing

Athena Racing is a STEM education program for girls in middle school and high school who are interested in discovering more about career paths in the transportation industries related to cars, airplanes, rockets, boats, rail, trucks, and EV in the specialties of engineering, robotics, design, mechanics, fabrication and business.

Eligibility:

You must be a female student in middle school or high school to attend Athena Racing events.

Montana Corps High School Expedition

High School Expedition is a 4-week volunteer service experience for Montana teens ages 14 to 17. Expedition Members will spend the majority of their time outdoors, camping, working, and exploring. Each crew will be led by two Crew Leaders, who are graduates of MCC’s 7-week leadership training. Expedition Crews work, serve, and learn in some of Montana’s wildest places!

SUNY Oneonta Summer Research Fellowship

An environmental/natural science program where students support the ongoing research projects of Oneonta professors, and carry out their own research projects. Students also have access to up to three credit bearing courses on Oneonta's campus. Upon completion of the program, high school researchers receive $3,000 (with undergraduates receiving $4,000).

Eligibility:

Applicants must be a New York resident and a high school students or undergraduates. If in high school, students must be at least 16 years of age.

ZLab Columbia University

ZLab is one of Columbia's most prominent physics laboratories. Current research projects are divided into three categories: ultracold molecules, molecular laser cooling, and nonlinear optics. Students will be able to gain hands-on research experience with state of the art technology alongside professional physicists.

Must be high school or undergraduate student who is at least 14 years old.

Hutton Junior Fisheries Program

An internship in fisheries science and aquatic resource management for high school students. Participants are matched with a fisheries expert and gain hands on experience in the aquatic career.

Step Up to STEM

Free week-long residential summer program where rising 9th or 10th graders develop their skills in math, science, and communications. Students are hosted by the North Carolina school of Matematics and Sciences, and can take advantage of several enrichment activities. Rising 9h graders lean about matheeatic puzzles and forensic science while rising 10th graders learn about disease research, viral genetics, and biotechology.

Eligibility:

The application is open to current 8th-grade African American, Hispanic American, and Native American students who live in North Carolina.
